Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (CA-48)

​Born in California in 1947, Dana Rohrabacher graduated from Palos Verdes High School, attended Harbor Junior College, and has a Bachelors Degree from California State College at Long Beach.  Later he earned a Masters Degree from the University of Southern California.  While in school, Dana worked as an ice cream scooper at Marineland snack bar, and as a janitor for a local company.

In the 1970s Dana earned his living as a journalist, covering the major stories of the day as a reporter for City New Service/ Radio News West, and also as an editorial writer for the Orange County Register.

He worked in Ronald Reagan’s Presidential campaigns as Assistant Press Secretary and followed President Reagan to the White House where, for seven years, he was a senior speechwriter and special assistant to the President.

In 1988, Dana Rohrabacher was elected to the House of Representatives from our area.  Dana has now distinguished himself as Vice-Chairman of the House Science Committee, chairman of the Europe and Emerging Threats Subcommittee and as a senior member of the International Relations Committee.

Dana lives in Eastside Costa Mesa with his wife Rhonda.  They have been married 20 years.  They are both Christians and enjoy surfing and water sports.  They homeschool their thirteen-year-old triplets, Christian, Annika and Tristen.

Dana is an Eagle Scout and loves Irish pub music and old surf tunes.
